Happy 5th Anniversary

Today marks our Fifth Anniversary. It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years already.

The last five years haven’t been easy, but we’ve got through those difficult times. Times that I think have made our marriage stronger. That have taught us lessons on caring for each other and always putting the other person first.

There have been good times and bad times. But through it all, we’ve got through it with each other. And I would have it no other way.

I look forward to seeing what the next 50 years bring.

We celebrated my birthday and our anniversary last weekend with a trip to the zoo and dinner at Texas RoadHouse. This weekend is a race weekend for the hubby, so I’m headed to the track this afternoon for some racing and camping with him.

Myrtle Beach {part one}

We got back from our vacation to Myrtle Beach late Saturday night. We had such a great time with our parents and our new found friends. We didn’t want to leave; then again we never want to leave MB and one day we will move there. {If you live in the area and need a couple of employee’s we’d love to help you out ;o)}

We left around 6:30pm Thursday evening and drove through the night, arriving at the parents at 5:30 in the morning on Friday. The best MIL in the world, fixed eggs and biscuits for breakfast before the hubby and I crashed on the couch.

The MIL and I went for a pedicure at a local technical college. That was so relaxing and very much needed. Too bad we weren’t able to get massages booked for the week we were there. Next time though.

Saturday we went to our parents friend’s for a Low Country Boil.

Even though I’m not a big seafood person, it was very yummy and a lot of fun! We had a yummy cake for my post birthday celebration and I will post about that later.

We spent Sunday lounging at the pool, soaking up the sun rays and I managed to get sun burnt even with SPF 70.

Monday we spent more time at the pool. In the evening we headed down to the new boardwalk. My MIL’s friend Bobbi, Skyler and her friend rode the Sky Wheel with me since no one else would, including my husband.

These two thirteen year olds crack me up. They were freaking out the entire time. The was over priced for the three times you go around, including the first time you go around to load people. But it’s one of those things to mark off the bucket list and to say you’ve done.

The Sky Wheel at sunset. This did make for a lot of pretty pictures that I am so proud of and can’t wait to frame.

Tuesday was the hubby and I’s 3rd Anniversary. Three years? Where in the world did the time go? It sure doesn’t feel like it’s been that long already.

We spent the day shopping and hanging out at Broadway at the Beach. We love that place. It’s an area around a lake that offers shopping, food and entertainment.

We had dinner at our favorite place we discovered on our honeymoon to the beach, Sticky Fingers. We love that place and are thankful our local grocery store sells their BBQ sauces so we can enjoy it at home.

That evening we headed to the Pier by our condo to take in the beautiful skyline of Myrtle Beach. We love to walk down the pier when we go to the beach, it’s just so relaxing in the evening.

While we were there, there were at least three people who had caught baby sharks.

Wednesday we hung around the condo and the pools. One of Andrew’s childhood friends came to the beach to visit for a few days with her little boy B. He was so adorable.

We tried to do everything in the evening when it wasn’t so hot out. There was a nice breeze every day we were there. That evening we we went to Brookgreen Gardens to enjoy the gardens, zoo and boat ride through the old rice plantations.

All of the animals at the zoo were just amazing. This wasn’t your typical zoo. There were different types of birds, gators, owls, goats, etc.

This gator was in an enclosed exhibit. He looked angry. We later found out that he was a 15 foot, 60 year old gator. I guess I would look mad at the world too.

B loved the zoo. He was too stinkin’ cute and just would not give up and go to sleep all day, cause he might just miss something. He certainly was a busy 1.5 year old.

We took a boat ride through the old rice plantations. It was beautiful at sunset and was so happy we went at this time. I just love these pictures. I think I’m going to have to frame them.

The area we went through were some swamps and sometimes you get to see a lot of gators. But this night the weather and water wasn’t right for them. Although, we  did get to see one on our way back from the tour. I wasn’t able to zoom in fast enough before this little big dude snuck back under the water.

We noticed that in the south, squirrels are not afraid of people. This was a fox squirrel that was roaming around. Later in the week I had a squirrel that just hung out around me while I was waiting on the hubby somewhere.

I just love all the pictures I was able to capture on vacation {all 300+} so I will have to do a post on my favorites.

I love these lilies. I have the bright orange ones growing in my back yard and I just love them. In fact they are getting ready to bloom. But I had no idea they came in so many different colors and fell in love with the pink ones!

The hubby and I at the gardens. We didn’t have time before the garden closed to check out all the plants they had. But I did buy a plant to bring home with us.

Me and my new boyfriend. Is he not the cutest?!?

Wednesday night we were outside and noticed that the moon was a bright orange color. It wasn’t until the next day that we found out there was an eclipse that night, that was only suppose to be seen in Europe, but we were able to see it in Myrtle Beach. To top it off, it was right over the hotel that is purple at night.

The next day the sky was just crazy looking but I will save that for the next post.

Happy Anniversary

Two years ago today, I married my best friend.

It turned out to be the most perfect day. It was raining all morning, but two hours before we started pictures, the skies opened up and the sun shined through. We believe we have some special angels watching over use from above. We were very lucky to be able to spend the day with all of our close friends and family. I was thankful for the amazing bridal party that we call our best friends.

I can’t forget this amazing cake that we had from The West Side Bakery. It was Chocolate with Chocolate Gouache and Lemon with a Lemon filling and it was worth every dollar that it cost!
