Ultimate Blog Party 2014

Welcome to Luv, Laughter & Happily Ever After! And thanks for stopping by from the Ultimate Blog Party 2014! This is my fifth year participating and I’m super excited to be partying again this year! I always look forward to finding new blogs, Facebook Pages and Pinterest Pages to follow.

I am Amber. I have exactly two months from today until I hit the big 3-0. A lot of people fear their 30’s, but I’m looking forward to it. The hubby and I have been married for almost six years. Things haven’t always been sunshine and roses but we’re learning and becoming stronger together.

Me

I’ve called Ohio my home for the last twelve years, when I up rooted myself from the cornfields of Iowa and started my new venture in Ohio, when I moved here for college. One of these days we’re planning on moving to Myrtle Beach to get away from the cold winters {especially after this winter} and be closer to the in-laws.

I have a degree in Criminal Justice, but have been working as a social worker for the past eight years.

Daisy1 Diesel1

We are the proud parents of two dogs, Daisy, a six year old Border Collie/Lab mix and Diesel, a 3 year old Sheppard/Chow mix. Both were rescued while I was at work.

Kids

I found this cute sign on Pinterest the other day and thought it was funny.

Actually, the real reason we don’t have children yet is due to a dumb disease called Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome {PCOS}, something I have been battling for years. We have been on our TTC journey for the last five years. It has been a long, emotionally draining process. Thankfully, we found a doctor who has given us the hope that we needed to continue going.

Infertility

You can read more about Our Journey to parenthood here.

I like to keep things real around here. And with that said, I seem to find it difficult to always find the motivation to blog daily, weekly and sometimes even monthly. With battling the symptoms of PCOS and some other health problems, thrown in with every day life, sometimes I just lack the motivation to constantly sit down and write a post. And you see, I have this whole love-hate relationship with social media these days. Especially Pinterest. I feel that at times, I get overwhelmed with social media and the need to feel “perfect” with everyone posting about their “perfect lives” and “perfectly decorated and clean houses”, that I don’t feel adequate at times. It’s those times that I find myself pulling back from blogging and social media until those feelings go away. It’s taken me a while to realize that I don’t have to be a perfectionist and I don’t have to keep up with the Joneses. In that same breath, social media makes it so easy to keep in touch with everyone and share posts.

With that said, I hope you will continue to join me on my journey through life as I share recipes, crafts, coupoing, travel, photography, our adventures and our life.

You can follow me on Facebook, Instagram {where I am much more active and share tons of pictures of our furbabies and food} and Twitter.

Thanks for stopping by the party! :o)

Ultimate Blog Party 2013

UBP-2013_300x250

I’m Amber and want to welcome you to Luv, Laughter & Happily Ever After! I like to call this my little corner of the web where I share my latest deals, DIY projects, recipes, struggles with infertility and life!

This is my fourth year {wow, can’t believe it’s been that long already} participating in the Ultimate Blog Party {UBP}  hosted by 5MinutesForMom.com.

I started blogging over four years ago when I started learning more about couponing and began getting great bargains that I wanted to share with my friends and family. From there it evolved into sharing more than just deals, but our life and our struggles. It hasn’t been an easy journey, but as Gary Allen’s song says, “Life isn’t always beautiful, but it’s a beautiful ride.”

I’m an underpaid Martha Stewart with a taxi service by day {okay, so I’m a social worker} and a domesticated wife by night. I’ve been married to my jack-of-all-trades-husband for almost five years! This is double the trouble when we both have idea’s that we want to do around the house and have to come to a compromise!

I’ve called Ohio my home for the last eleven years, when I up rooted myself from the cornfields of Iowa and started my new venture in Ohio when I moved here for college. One of these days we’re planning on moving to Myrtle Beach to get away from the cold winters and be closer to the in-laws.

We’ve spent the last four years battling infertility and PCOS. It’s been an emotional roller coaster ride. Ten rounds of infertility treatments later, we’re still struggling with this huge hole in our hearts that is empty, just waiting to be filled with a precious newborn. Last fall, I had a procedure done called Ovarian Drilling, a procedure that was once used before the invention of infertility medications, that has helped my cycles get on track. This has given me hope that one day we will be holding our miracle.  I keep trying to remember that his timing isn’t necessarily my timing.

I hope you will continue to join me on my journey as I post about recipes, crafts, travel, photography, our adventures and our life.

You can find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Please excuse the very vague post, as I’ve procrastinated and have been rushing all evening to pack for a weekend trip to Chicago. I look forward to meeting tons of new readers and partying it up all week!

Ultimate Blog Party!!

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Thanks for stopping by from the Ultimate Blog Party.

I had so much fun participating in the Ultimate Blog Party last year, that I couldn’t wait for it again this year!  Thanks to 5 Minutes for Mom.com for hosting this fabulous party again!

If you’re new here, I’m Amber and I’m a twenty-something, domesticated wife of a jack of all trades. Those two together aren’t always a good thing either, ha. I am always coming up with projects for the hubby {an yes I refer to him frequently as the hubby}. I’m originally from the great corn state of Iowa, but moved to Ohio for college and kinda just stayed around the area. We’ve been married for 3 years in June and have two dogs, Jake & Daisy. We’re working on the 3 year plan{or less} to move to Myrtle Beach to be near the hubby’s parents.

We are currently trying to conceive {TTC}. It’s been a long, emotion filled, up hill battle. PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome has became one big pain in my booty. This whole process has just made us stronger and more appreciative for the day we do have a family. You can always read about our journey by clicking on the Our Journey link at the top of the page. Most recently we have met with an infertility specialist and have tried a new fertility medication.

I love to do anything crafty. Like I said, I’m very domesticated. My friends have called me a Betty Crocker meets Martha Stewart.

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

If you ventured to my neck of the blogasphere from the 2010 Ultimate Blog Party, Welcome.

My name is Amber. I’ve been blogging for about six months and am still learning the in’s and out’s of blogging, but it has became something that I love to do. I also love to see other people’s idea’s and learn new things from all the other wonderful bloggers out there. Thankfully my husband is learning to put up with my long hours surfing blogs and adding too his honey-to-do-list.

I am a social worker by day and a domesticated wife by night. I’ve been learning about domestication most of my life. I grew up around my grandmother who was always cooking, baking, crafting, thrifting, gardening or just about anything else. She was green before green became cool. Most of what I know, I learned from her and I am so grateful for those moments I got to spent with her and my grandfather. I became a homeowner at the young age of 22 and with the help of my wonderful husband of almost two years, we have been able to tackle the craziness that comes with home ownership. We have spent the last few years putting our own touches on our 1940’s house and just when we think we’re done, I come up with something else to do.

We are currently trying to conceive, but are having difficulty with infertility caused by Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. It has been a very stressful process but we are trying to stay optimistic. There is nothing more in this world that I would love to do than become a mother.

My blog is a little of this and a little of that. I love to decorate and craft. Sewing is something I recently got back into and now I can’t be unsupervised in JoAnn’s. Unfortunately for my husband the store is just up the street! I love to cook when I feel like it or have the time. And my new love is for all things coupons and free stuff! It’s my current mission to reduce our grocery bill in order to try to get out of debt and save more money. I get a rush when I get things for free and I love all the free samples that pile up in my mailbox.

I would love to win the Hilton Garden Inn prize or one of the amazing stamped necklaces that I have been drooling over lately.

Welcome to The Lester’sLuv, Laughter & Happily Ever After. I hope that you will tag along for our journey and all that life has to throw at us. Don’t be shy either.
